Sarah Buxton Biography

Country singer Sarah Buxton spent several years working in Nashville as a songwriter (Keith Urban's version of her song Stupid Boy hit the Top Ten on Billboard's country singles chart in the fall of 2006) and backing vocalist for the likes of Kenny Rogers, John Corbett, and Cowboy Troy before embarking on her solo career. A native of Lawrence, KS, who moved to Nashville in her late teens to attend Belmont University, Buxton had the usual travails, including bad gigs and a brief failed marriage, before her mentor, John Rich, of the country duo Big & Rich, convinced her to focus on a solo career. Possessing an appealingly hoarse singing voice akin to Melissa Etheridge and a no-nonsense lyrical persona somewhat along the lines of Gretchen Wilson, Buxton soon signed to Lyric Street Records, the country imprint of Disney's Hollywood Records division. Buxton's debut single, Innocence, was released in September 2006, reaching the low thirties on the Billboard country singles chart. Upon receipt of the information included in the Consultation & Artist Info Package, Buyer agrees that ERG has fulfilled its obligations under this agreement and releases ERG from any and all liability to the maximum extent allowed by law, and will indemnify and hold harmless ERG, its directors, officers, employees, and agents, from and against any and all claims arising from this agreement and subsequent event including but not limited to all third party claims, losses, damages, suits, fees, judgments, costs and expenses (collectively referred to as 'Claims'), including attorneys' fees incurred in responding to such Claims, that the parties may suffer or incur arising out of or in connection with (a) a party’s negligence, willful misconduct, or breach of any representation, warranty, or other obligation under this Agreement, or (b) any personal injury (including death) or damage to property resulting from a party or its agents' acts or omissions and standard force majeure. The parties will give prompt notice of any Claim to the other party, and the parties will defend the opposing party at their request. This Agreement will be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of NEVADA.
